A love letter to my non-existent lesbian friends.

Dear Lesbian,

If we were friends, which I ever so much hope us to become, tonight, I would invite you over to our bonfire. I’d share my riesling. It would be comfortable and relaxed. We could make s'mores. We could even sing off key together.

I’m engaged, and so I wouldn’t try to get in your pants - but I probably would flirt. I do it with my straight friends, so I don’t see why it has to be different with you. We would both know it was just for fun.

We could discuss which dildos we like the best. We could laugh at people who think lesbians shouldn’t want to use dildos.

We could make derogatory statements about those who oppress us in society and ask why Sarah Palin seems to hate women.

We could debate identities - queer, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual: does it matter?

It wouldn’t have to be exactly like this. I can make concessions. I just miss you - I miss a queer community. Please come soon.

XOXO,

Me.
